That ex-FT101 VFO is a great asset. Stable, analogue and clean, with commercial grade frequency readout dial, and you didn’t have to make any of it! Reusing a classic piece. It’s the ‘soul’ of the Mythbuster for sure. — 3HN.
Yes, it is a great piece of gear. Almost makes it worth it to look for junker FT-101s. And even better — I bought it following a recommendation from Pete! But as for the freq readout, I didn’t really like it. Stay tuned — Tomorrow: GLOWING NUMERALS! 73 Bill
