  1. Hacking up Heath Twoers and Nuvistor 2 meter converters just for the cases?!?!? Oh the humanity! Don’t do it! My antenna-space-challenged teenage years revolved around my Twoer (5 watts AM), an Ameco Nuvistor convertor, a Lafayette KT-320 receiver and a “Swiss Quad” antenna in our 7th floor apartment near Philly. You should hook up that converter to a coax antenna and listen around! I’ll bet there’s plenty of CW and SSB activity on 2 meters in your vicinity.
