When watching launch videos, have you ever noticed the popping noises in the roar of the booster? For years I attributed that to acoustic overload of the recording microphone but discovered it has the same sound ‘live’ after witnessing a launch in person. It’s interesting that the exhaust plume from the booster is asymetrical. I would’ve thought it would basically be round, sort of like that of a propane torch. Also, I wonder why they jettison the payload faring so soon after launch? I would think they’d want it on until the spacecraft leaves orbit and away from the ‘ortibiting junkyard’. 73 from somewhere left of the Final Frontier….. Steve Smith WB6TNL “Snort Rosin”
