Hi Bill. First thing first I’m glad to hear that you school receiver project is going well. That’s news. I listened in on the last podcast and you mentioned you are thinking of putting together a SSB transceiver for the 10meter band. Well I have the same thoughts and putting together some building block down on paper. I have three ways to do this.;using 5 crystals one for each frequency I like to use,2; using a VFO to cover these frequencies or 3;Use one of these SI5371? things. Problem 1; as i live in Thailand I don’t know where I can get the crystals from. 2 ; using a VFO would be ok but I would like to use this in my car mobile. 3; SI5173? Im not a programmer in any sense of the word and I can’t do it(to old) so that’s out. So it looks like is going to be a VFO controlled unit. How or what will you be using is what I would like to know? 73’s. Paul. HS0ZLQ/G0MIH
