Maybe the answer is just too obvious.<\/p>\n<p> Here it is: About 2 years ago an electrical engineer\/ham radio operator\/nuclear engineer threw the following question by me (I&#8217;ve yet to get back to him with my answer). Maybe you, or some of your listeners know the answer.<\/p>\n<p> <span class=\"yshortcuts\" id=\"lw_1264743732_1\">Knack<\/span> Question: For <span class=\"yshortcuts\" id=\"lw_1264743732_2\" style=\"-moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(0, 102, 204); cursor: pointer;\">yagi antennas<\/span> only one (yes, sometimes two) element is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">electrically<\/span> driven\/xmit. Instead, why aren&#8217;t all of the elements (simultaneously) electrically driven\/xmit (vs parasitically driven)? Now the stumper &#8211; according to the engineer supposedly the answer <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">excludes<\/span> the following as the answer(s):<\/b> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Impact to <span class=\"yshortcuts\" id=\"lw_1264743732_3\">antenna gain<\/span>, <\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>The need to have any type of phasing harness<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Impact to transmit horizontal beam width (directivity).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Any idea what the answer might be?
