This direct conversion receiver for the hf radio amateur bands was designed and built by me way back in 1995. Later, in 1996, it was published in two parts on RadioKit Elettronica magazine. What you hear in the video was received with a simple antenna made from 4m long wire inside the house. By connecting the receiver to a suitable antenna tuned to the various bands, the reception is truly excellent and no different from commercial professional receivers. This is undoubtedly the project that has given me the most satisfaction in my activity as an electronic hobbyist.
